All of the policies described below are in place to ensure the safety and quality of your Koko Beach Tanning & Hair Salon experience.

Cancellation Policy

Hair and Waxing Services

Koko Beach Tanning & Hair Salon understands that sometimes schedules change and therefore requests at least 24 hours notice when canceling or rescheduling your appointment. A credit card is required to hold your appointment. Appointments canceled within 24 hours or for which clients are a “No-Show” for will incur a charge of 50% of the service amount.
Please note that appointments made within 24 hours may instead be canceled or modified at least 4 hours prior to the appointment time in order to avoid a charge of 50% of the service amount. If there is not a credit card on file, the 50% will be added to your next service.

Tanning Services

As a courtesy to all Koko Beach Tanning & Hair Salon customers, Koko Beach requires a minimum of two hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to do so will result in your appointment points or package being used for that appointment.

Here at Koko Beach Tanning and Hair Salon we understand that accidents and emergencies happen that prevent 24-hour notice for canceling or rescheduling your appointment. Koko Beach Club members are given one (2) grace appointments a year for last-minute scheduling changes, cancellations, or no-shows. Please inquire at our location on how to sign up to become a member.

Late Policy

Please note that if you are over 10 minutes late for your appointment we may have to reschedule your service if it cannot be completed in the remaining time frame. All attempts to reschedule in a timely manner will be made. If we do not hear from you 10 or more minutes into your scheduled appointment time it is considered a “No-Show” and your card will be charged for 50% of the service scheduled or if there is not a card on file, you will be charged at your next appointment.

Tanning Services

Age Requirements

For liability reasons, children under the age of 12 cannot be left unattended and must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.

Under no circumstances are children permitted in the tanning rooms.

Any person under 18 years of age is not permitted to use UV tanning equipment without a medical prescription.

Indoor Tanning Lotions Only

Please ensure that your tanning lotions are formulated for indoor tanning as some outdoor products:

  • May cause photosensitivity
  • May decrease tanning efficiency
  • May damage the acrylics on the tanning bed

A Koko Beach Customer Specialist is always available to answer any questions you may have about the value of using specially formulated indoor tanning lotions. Do not hesitate to ask us!

Eye Protection is Essential

Although they may seem like a nuisance, the goggles worn while tanning serve a very important purpose; they protect your cornea and retina from UV light damage that can lead to cataracts. The skin that makes up your eyelids offers almost no protection against UV light, so it does not make a lot of sense to lie in a tanning bed without tanning goggles! The indoor tanning eyewear that Koko Beach Tanning and Hair Salon sells stops 99% of UVB light and 99.9% of UVA light, allowing only visible light through so you can see while you tan.

Not using proper eye protection may also result in short term effects such as tired and itchy eyes, headaches and loss of night vision. You should never be in a tanning bed without eye protection.

Expiry Dates

Tanning

All tanning packages including point packages have a 6 month non use expiry. Eg a client comes in on March 1 they must come in at least once before September 1 to restart their point package expiration

Monthly packages are per person (they cannot be shared unless the package is shareable) Eg 2 can tan for 1 month

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates expire after 6 months of date issued.

Promotional packages or gift certificates cannot be substituted for a different service.
